Dr. Anand J. Hosur MD(Hom) was appointed as Principal from 2nd of May 2025. He completed his B.H.M.S. from A. M. Shaikh Homoeopathic Medical College , Belgaum in the year 1999 and M.D. from Bharatesh Homoeopathic Medical College , Belgaum in 2004. He was working as Professor & PG Guide at Bharatesh Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Belgaum. He has served as Principal & HOD at Shiv Basav Jyoti Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Belgaum for 2 years and Principal at Jain Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Belgaum for 1 year. He has been the Syndicate member, Rani Channamma University, Belagavi. He has a professional experience of 23yrs.

He is presently the Chairman, Board of Studies P.G (Homoeopathy) Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. He was Chairman, Board of Studies U.G (Homoeopathy) Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore from 2021 – 2024. He was the Member ,Faculty of Homoeopathy(2012-15), Member, Board of Studies (2015-18) and Academic Council Member (2018-19) at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. He is a Member of Local Inspection Committee (LIC), Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka.

He is a NABH certified assessor (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Health care providers- NABH) for AYUSH by NABH.

He has completed the Short Course in Educational Methodology (SCEM) conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. He is a “Master Trainer” - Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), for Workshop on Assessment Methods.

He has published various Articles in peer reviewed journals namely-

This is an outcome of various facts that give our institution its characteristic value as, great leadership, the dedicated faculty, enterprising students, ever increasing facilities, a deep concern for student’s development and an insatiable urge to improve and expand.

The highlighting feature of our institute is discipline, strict student’s attendance, teaching of moral character, latest audio-visual mode of teaching with co-curricular activities like Pharmacy educational tour for 1st B.H.M.S students, quiz and debate competitions, Case presentation, Slide pe Charcha, Poster presentation, Symposium, Role play, Seminar, Group discussion, Journal club etc, annual sports and Extra-curricular activities like, International Women’s Day, International Yoga Day, Doctor’s Day, Teacher’s Day, International Men’s Day etc. social gathering are arranged. Each and every department of the college are fully versed with basic as well latest equipment, models, charts, specimens. We are trying to make this institute as a model institute of Homoeopathy.

Each new academic session we are on a lookout for enterprising individuals who possess the urge & capacity to learn. We provide them with numerous platforms where they can explore, exhibit and express their ideas. The students of II-BHMS and III BHMS are encouraged to take active participation in Research oriented activities like Short Term Studentship Program by Central Council of Research in Homoeopathy, New Delhi and Short term Research Grants by Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Health Sciences Bangalore.

They are also able to interact and train with medical field thus opening for them a world of possibilities where they get employment with the regions / nation’s leading Homoeopathic Colleges. Our commitment to our vision and the exceptional dedication of our staff and students ensures that our institution is well poised for success in this ever demanding and changing world of technology. As you are aware that current century has witnessed a rapid changes in every facet of life. 'Education' is not exception to these changes. Scientific studies revealed that traditional 'Teacher-centric' methods of teaching-learning make the student more passive learner, dependent, reducing their creativity & interest in learning & make them 'examination-oriented'. Recent surveys reveal that how these graduates/post graduates found to be useless to the profession. On other hand, 'Student-centric' approach makes student more active & participatory learners. Students are trained to face difficulties & find remedies of their own & therefore student become more self-reliant & thus creative. The role of teacher in this approach is 'facilitator'. Such kind of learning experience although find difficulties in initial level, but in later part & through practice it becomes much simpler, easy & enjoyable to the learners. There are number of definitions of education, but most appropriately defined as- 'Education is the process of understanding & developing self'. We need to acquire optimum knowledge and skills to develop right attitude which is required during actual practicing of the profession. At this point, I make two parts of career. The amount of knowledge and skills you have acquired during formal education (course) will decide that what position you will get in the profession; whereas, later development after getting post/position in the organization is largely dependent on your 'attitude'. As far as later part is concerned, very few efforts, if any, are taken in the most of educational institutes. Fortunately, we offer platform for development of knowledge, skills as well as right attitude.

Our faculty takes a confident step in the institution’s vision of shaping the new generation Homoeopathy doctors, along with the academic knowledge. We take care of individual student in order to develop their overall personality to stand-up in the society as a responsible, successful Physician and moreover as a successful human.
